History
During the third shinobi war, many events happened that would have the Fujiwara clan in uproar. Being a clan composed of shinobi meant one thing: we will participate in the war. Though they - the clan - originally aided Konohagakure in this time, the clan members still fought to save themselves in the end.The Jogi at that time were known as Taiyo (Kurai) and Makia (Hikari) Fujiwara. They were a ruthless force, breeding fear in any enemy of the Fujiwara. Taiyo and Makia were the Jogi responsible for cultivating one of the most brutal and feared torture techniques in the Fujiwara - the severance of bonds. Some shinobi had their bonds willingly severed before going into battle, having feared that their lives could be cut short, they had their ties cut. This not only saved their Hikari counterpart, but also gave the shinobi a profound boost in skill. Izanami was at it's strongest, allowing them to absorb more pain than usual. This also allowed any 'barbaric' state to ensue, granting them a path of violence without repercussions. The barbaric state was a Kurai's greatest strength and weakness. Their pain tolerance knew no bounds, their strength exceeded that of the average shinobi - their speed unmatched, absolute demons with a bloodlust. The Kurai knew nothing of mercy, and had one goal: kill.Once the war was over, though, these shinobi returned to Aihana - completely void, and untamed. They formed part of the Jogi's guards, being obedient as this was their only way to remain in battle - all bonds but two were severed, and those were the bonds that tethered them to the Jogi.Taiyo and Makia later formed the Aihana ANBU, placing these severed Kurai in squadrons to deal with threats specifically aimed to Aihana. They had one task:
Eliminate, eradicate and erase.Their method of operation was very simple. Eliminate any enemies, eradicate any threats and erase the existence or proof of these threats having even existed. What they did not know, though, is that the biggest threat to Aihana and the Fujiwara clan was a member of said clan.
The Threat
A great doctor was born, excelling in the arts of healing - he was a true prodigy, something the clan had not seen in eons. The Hikari was known as Hanzo Fujiwara - excellent in his job. There was virtually not one illness he could not cure, and he took immense pride in his work. Saving people was all too easy - and then he found his soulmate. Hana, a Kurai that had not faced a single second in a battle. She was sick, frail - rejecting the demon chakra. Hanzo took it upon himself to save her, for watching the love of his life decay before his own eyes was eating him up. His method in saving her was considered shady - his need to protect and save her consumed him.Love is a driving force in the clan, and like the barbaric state in a Kurai, a Hikari's emotions coud be both their greatest strength, and the key to their downfall. He would let other patients die, then harvested what he could from them. Any organ, any blood - he took whatever he could and transplanted it into Hana's weak body; this prolonged her life significantly. Hana had grown hopeful, as she was feeling better after each operation, she pleaded with Hanzo to do whatever he could to save her . . . and he did.Ill clanmates were dying, wounded Kurai were not recovering - Hana was getting better. His eagerness to have Hana healthy again paved way for error, and he did make a mistake one day. Hanzo's recklessness eventually had him caught by the Aihana ANBU and thrown into a cell where Taiyo and Makia would interrogate him.He would undergo hours of torture, having each bond severed one by one but refusing to say anything. The last remaining bond he had left, was belonging to Hana. She had saved his life, it was unethical to sever the bond between married members. Hanzo had grown angry - was it not clear that he wouldn't say anything? Each second he was locked in that cell, was a second Hana was not getting any better. So he hatched a plan: by manipulating severed Kurai, he managed to escape and took them with him.Years passed after that; Hanzo, Hana and the severed Kurai had a search order on them, but it was nearly impossible to find them. Each Kurai had their bonds severed, and Hanzo had performed so many experiments on Hana and the severed Kurai, that they were nearly untraceable. The doctor continued his work, reaching obscene conclusions. He had gone so far as to sever the bonds the kurai had with the jogi, rendering them completely untamed. His work paid off in the end - as Hana was able to walk again, laugh, smile . . . live, or so he thought. She would have bursts of energy, and then she would decline rapidly. In a desperate attempt to save her, he poured his own chakra into her system. The symptoms slowed down, and a new trial of experiments slowly ensued. As Hana's health fluctuated, Hanzo's sanity decreased."This is the clan's fault," he would mutter when she went into a coma. "I can't save you - they took my abilities, they took my bonds. They killed you."He was slowly being consumed by a hatred, by some form of desperation - he wasn't thinking logically, and had been driven by his emotions. As the years passed, he saw Hana go through it all, and then he eventually snapped.Turning to those severed Kurai, he began to experiment mercilessly. Hanzo cultivated new 'false' bonds, improving on Hikari techniques - this is how he controlled those untamed Kurai. He made new seals, new chakra transferring abilities: he nearly perfected his army of Kurai. He tested them too, and most died - but he would continue his experiments. He would erase the clan and save Hana by any and all means.
Birth of the Kyōkan
After what seemed like eons, Hanzo had finally managed to perfect his army. He would send his people out to abduct new Hikari and Kurai, experimenting on them as much as he could - if they died, he didn't mind: results mattered. Many Hikari and Kurai members had gone missing as the years passed, framing their disappearances as deaths - throwing the clan off of their trail. He consumed so much chakra from these members, he cultivated many new techniques and then later transferred it to the Kurai who survived. By consuming the chakra, he managed to suspend his aging, alongside Hana's.Somehow, he ended up with seven Kurai who had been perfected. They were a force to be reckoned with:Izanami was flawless, they were stronger than anything he had ever seen. They were faster, stronger, smarter, more charming - almost unreal. They had their bonds severed too, by means of an abducted Hikari who worked under Hanzo. This Hikari had a seal placed on them, and Hanzo controlled them like a puppet. These perfected Kurai were void of anything, living to kill and conquer - living to serve him, and thus got named The Kyōkan (The Void.)The kyōkan's abilities were nothing to be messed with. Super strength exceeding that of Tsunade's, speed that seemed as if they could teleport, enhanced Dark Realm, enhanced Izanami, a mouth made of honey that could charm virtually anyone. Their features were also enhanced with the help of Hanzo - in order to maintain these abilities, they needed to consume absurd amounts of chakra to sustain them. They have have kunai that are tailored, are sharper and thinner than the average weapon, allowing them to pierce the flesh of their victims and drain the chakra out of them. They exclusively consumed the chakra of other Hikari members they would find outside of Aihana. Their puncture would release their own chakra, making their 'prey' feel a form of numbness, unable to move much. They avoided Kurai, as their chakra supply was limited - they fought back too much, their chakra wasn't enough and they were seen as a waste of time. When wounding a Kurai, their chakra immediately seeps into their prey as well - this causes the Kurai's chakra to be drained significantly quicker, and as a result, Izanami activates by itself to protect the user.Izanami has a side effect that's dangerous, and it is triggered here:The Kurai will enter a state of barbarics, unable to differentiate between friend and foe. The Kyo (a singular Kyokan) frequently takes advantage of this, as Kurai will harm those they love, and not be able to stop themselves. This is a massive psychological playing field - who would be happy to find out that their partner was harmed?Wounded Hikari would sometimes return to Aihana, and fell ill immediately - being contaminated by the filthy chakra of the kyōkan. They'd get fevers, become lethargic, refusing to eat. This would pass over the span of a week, and called for a lockdown in the village.Another ability The Kyōkan possess is the ability to place micro seals on their prey - this grants a pseudo-bond, a false bond. It's used to spy on others, while also manipulating them - its done via touch, and their prey aren't aware of it. The seal is microscopic, and takes the colour of their flesh. The kyōkan were ready, Hanzo believed, he had successfully created the natural enemy of the Fujiwara clan - and his plan could commence.
Hanzo's plan.
His experiments had proven to be beneficial. By combining his chakra alongside the kyōkan's, he could save her - he could save Hana. He figured if he could have a permanent supply of it, Hana could live freely. His conclusion, although obscene, was that in order to save Hana he needed to transfer her into a new vessel.A vessel that had a load of chakra at the ready, a vessel that could fight and protect itself: a hybrid of the Hikari and the Kurai. The night Hanzo reached this conclusion, he smiled sweetly at his sick wife and felt something he hadn't felt in a while . . . hope. His plan is unknown to anyone but Hana - the kyōkan follow his orders blindly.

guard
The Protectors
Aihana may seem perfect at first glance; it is however filled with a variety of people, and not all of them choose to be good. Being a village set on integrity and honesty doesn't always translate to its inhabitants - Hanzo Fujiwara being a prime example. The Guard - comprising out of skilled Kurai - are responsible for keeping Aihana in check; safe from outside threats and those inside. They have a variety of responsibilities depending on where they are stationed.
Stations
Stations refer to places where the Guard work. Some work in the prison, which is located beneath the main house - keeping both Hikari and Kurai out of the public eye. These guards tend to prisoners; feeding them, talking to them, punishing them when needed.Other guards work near the gates; making sure to check any and all carriages and/or people entering. They make sure these aren't spies from other villages, or people trying to smuggle something into (or out of) Aihana. They do checks, and frequently escort people to places they wish to be.Some guards work for the jogi, making sure that the main office is undisturbed or run important errands for the leaders when they aren't able to do it themselves. These guards are some of the most trusted people in Aihana, and a position not given freely.Guards who do not belong to a specific station usually patrol the village, keeping a keen eye open to any activity - they help civilians, keep drunkards off the street, escort visitors to specific areas and a plethora of other small actions.Guards do not go on missions - they stay in Aihana, serving and cherishing the village with its inhabitants. They are a symbol of safety, and easily trusted. If a guard is found abusing their power, they will be banished and stripped of their abilities. This is not a job to be taken lightly - guards may only step into action when they are 19 and up.
Outfit - NOT CUSTOMIZABLE.
shinobi
The Tools
In Aihana, different divisions of Shinobi have different responsibilities.
There are three branches of Shinobi that members of Aihana can choose from:⇾ Shinobi: These ninja do D-B rank missions, and are general ninja. They do not particularly specialize in something, and are known as jack of all trades. They are vital to the village, and do jobs that are essential for the shinobi-world.⇾ Elite Divisions: These Shinobi have honed their skills and are proficient in certain fields which include tracking, reporting, escorts, and attacks.⇾ Aihana ANBU: The best of the best, handpicked by the Jogi. These members are ready to lay down their life for Aihana, and have greatness within them.
Note: THIS IS NOT OPEN TO ALL. YOU NEED PERMISSION FROM THE FOUNDERS.
General Shinobi
These shinobi take D-B rank missions. Healer or fighter, they are essential. Any mission to be discovered as above B rank is to be abandoned immediately as it was not agreed upon. Some mission examples include:- D Rank

⇾ Finding missing Pets
⇾ Running errands
⇾ Helping with heavy lifting
⇾ Curing small wounds and minor ailments.- C Rank

⇾ Curing larger wounds, not life threatening.
⇾ Information gathering that require conversation.- B Rank
⇾ Tracking down Rogue shinobi
⇾ Defending Aihana against lower-level threats
⇾ Locating missing people.
⇾ Fighting beasts and other strange creatures.Any and all missions that have a high chance in the shinobi being killed is to be abandoned, as this counts as an A-Rank level threat.Ninja found to have continued on a mission, which endangered them and the rest of Aihana, will be punished.
The Elite
These ninja have honed their skills and belong to a certain division. If the shinobi chooses to belong to a division, they must be at least 17-18 years of age.The divisions include:⇾ Tracking & Intelligence: Possessing a deep knowledge of how to blend in with the shadows and remain unseen, these shinobi are sent to track rogue shinobi and take them back to where they belong. They gather information on potential enemies, act as spies, and are sent out to gather information for the ANBU, The general shinobi, and the Jogi. They are vital, for without them, strategist cannot do what they need to do. They're expected remain unseen, and if they are caught, they must return home by any means necessary.⇾ Attack Squad: Working alongside strategist, this division is responsible for launching attacks against enemies, infiltrating villages that need to be handled accordingly, and more. They are trained in combat, being able to handle any threat as long as it is below A-Rank.⇾ Escort Squad: The escort squad is responsible for escorting people from dangerous places to other dangerous places, this squad is barely in Aihana - merely returning for their next mission. They are equipped to handle most threats, and closely work with the attack squad.
mercenary
When in possession of skills and precision one might choose to offer their skills to others outside of the clan and village
Mercenary jobs are registered through the head of the Guild Master and divided amongst the Mercenary guild by the Grand Master. The mercenaries are shinobi for hire, willing to do anything for the right price. This branch is strictly reserved for the Kurai.
Upon joining the Mercenary group as an occupation, you as the creator of the OC can rank them as high as Yōhei. Any rank thereafter is obtained via rewards for art and events. Have fun!
Mercenary ranking & outfits
mercenary ranks
Ranks within the Mercenary guild:
(NONE of these ranks are skip-able)⇾ Novice
Once enlisted into the Mercenary’s Guild you are granted the title of Novice. Novices are subjected to near-daily and intensive training at the Mercenary Guild training grounds. They do not receive any missions as of yet, dedicating their time to becoming the best of the best.
⇾ Apprentice
After the Novice finish training, they get an apprenticeship with a Master rank to gain field experience. When entering their apprenticeship, they are awarded the title. Apprenticeship entails lower ranking missions, always accompanied by someone who carries the Master rank.
⇾ Mercenary
Once apprenticeship has ended successfully, they receive the rank of Mercenary. The majority of the guild members are Mercenaries. They are the backbone of the organization and have access to the widest variety of missions. They are not allowed to take on apprentices. They receive an armband that is the the same shade as the sacred cloth, with two accent coloured stripes at the top & bottom.Within Mercenary there are multiple ranks, more refined ranks as well. They are based on how many missions a mercenary member has completed.⇾ Yōhei
Obtained after: 100 Successful Missions. Usually muscle for hire. Can be hired to help with odd jobs and protection. Armband gains 1 stripe at the top.⇾ Ryōhei
Obtained after: 200 Successful Missions. The missions for this rank usually contain gathering intel for a client, almost like a private investigator. Or quietly capturing bandits and thieves. Armband gains a stripe at the bottom.⇾ Koyōhei
*Obtained after: *275 Successful Missions. Koyōhei typical missions can get more political, one can for example be hired to impersonate a VIP for their safety or to simply guard them. These missions require preparation work and a certain expectancy in intelligence from the Mercenary. Armband gains a stripe in the center.⇾ Shikkōhei
Obtained after: 325 Successful Missions. Shikkōhei operate in secret and thrive on anonymity. Assassination, leading commander-less armies, transporting important cargo, guarding VIP’S. Armband gains a stripe between the center and the bottom.⇾ Master
Once a Mercenary has successfully executed a total of 400 missions, they have the possibility of becoming a Master. If one wishes to enter this rank, they are expected to be strong, team players and incredible leaders. They will be responsible for their assigned apprentice and anything they do will reflect badly on the Master. They cannot enter missions alone, once they have accepted this rank they are only allowed to work with Apprentices, no solo missions. Armband gains a stripe between the center and top.⇾ Grand Master
Grand Master is a rank available after having spent 10 years on active duty in the Mercenary class. After 5 years they are expected to have a well enough understanding of the inner workings of the organization to be able to run it from behind the scenes. Meeting clients, documenting missions, handing out missions etc. This rank is not obtained automatically, a Mercenary must enter their written request to the Guild Master for evaluation. Armband has all stripes and the Aihana symbol.⇾ Guild Master
The guild’s highest-ranking executive officer, and highest-ranking member of the guild. Responsible for determining overall direction of the guild and being the connection between the Jogi and the Guild. This rank can only be achieved by being chosen as a successor who has passed through all the ranks of the guild. Attire is completely different from that of the other mercenaries.
Difference between Mercenaries and Shinobi
Mercenaries are shinobi for hire, and forfeit Aihana being responsible for them. If they are in trouble it is wholly on them. Aihana itself will not step in, merely the Guild Master. Nothing mercenaries do reflect directly on Aihana, as they're an independent source. They aren't abandoned, but their work doesn't benefit Aihana, nor put it at a disadvantage. They're away form home for prolonged periods, some mercenaries merely returning home on important events.Shinobi, on the other hand, carry the reputation of Aihana on their backs at all time. They're paid less, but they have the entirety of the village - and the Jogi - back them up. Shinobi cannot enter hidden villages - apart from Konoha - freely, whereas mercenaries merely have to flash some paperwork for entrance. Both mercenaries and shinobi are a part of Aihana, one just carries more weight.
AIHANA ANBU
eliminate, eradicate, erase.
Never seen, never heard of, never spoken of - the elite amongst the clan when it comes to strategy, battle and healing. A division started by Taiyo and Makia, hailed as a fearless and brutal bunch.
The Aihana ANBU is a group hand-picked by the Jogi. They're expected to lay down their lives for the sake of the village, and be okay with prolonged times away from home. They deal with the worst of the worst - threats pertaining solely to Aihana (and one of them being Hanzo.)The Jogi will study mission reports, and eventually call in a group of shinobi while offering them a spot on the Aihana ANBU teamforce. There are requirements for the ANBU:⇾ Your loyalty to Aihana comes before all else.
⇾ Be 20 or over upon joining.
⇾ You must possess a great skill, something either Ren or Misa would have noticed.
⇾ Your emotions are void and null when on missions, you are merely a force to be reckoned with.
⇾ Kill or be killed, at all times.
⇾ Be willing to go to the extremes to extract information.
NOTE: The ANBU outfit cannot be customized, as it is a symbol of the unity. The colours are chosen from the provided pallet in the previous card, so please refer to the shading colours when doing any artwork surrounding it.
